Become a Christian
“If you’re thinking of becoming a Christian, I warn you, you’re embarking on something, which will take the whole of you.”
– C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
We were made for so much more.
Our happiness in this life is not about the fulfillment of our desires but the transformation of them.
Only the Way of Jesus can transform us into God’s intended vision for our lives. (John 14:6)
But where do we start?
How does one become a Christian?
God has not created an elaborate, difficult process for those who want to come to him.
And no matter who you are, where you are from, and what you have done, you can follow the Way of Jesus into the everlasting arms of God.
All are invited, including you.
So, what does one do to follow Jesus?
One only has to say it and believe it.
As Paul wrote in his letter to the church in Rome, “because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Shout it from the hilltop!
Believe it in your heart!
God will forgive you for everything that you have done.
And you will be on the Way to a relationship with God through his Son, Jesus.
You will be a Christian.
Have you confessed? Do you believe? Let us know!

“The Bible is the cradle wherein Christ is laid.”
– Martin Luther
Christians talk with God by praying.
But to have a relationship with God, one has to know God.
Reading the Bible is the best way to know who God is and to know what God has done, for us.
God speaks to us through his holy word, the Bible.
And we learned how to love God and live for him daily through that word.
To know God and the promises God has made for us, one has to read the Bible, every day.
Spend at least 10 minutes each day reading and thinking on God’s word.

“O let all who thirst
Let them come to the water
And let all who have nothing
Let them come to the Lord”
– Matt Maher, Come to the Water
Followers of the first Christian communities wrote the books of the Bible called the New Testament.
And it’s in the New Testament where we encounter beautiful teachings and stories about baptism.
We learn that baptism is entry into the Way of Jesus and into the community of Christ, known as the “church,” or “the called out people.”
Baptism is God’s way of calling you out of the herd, setting you aside, and claiming to the universe, “This is my beloved child, they are mine.”
Once you have decided to follow Jesus, baptism is your next step. It’s a public way of both you and God telling the world, “I believe in God and God believes in me.”
In a sense, it is the death of the old you, and the birth of the new you, in Jesus.
