Howard Isaacson came to Emmanuel with extensive leadership, strategic planning and not-for-profit experience, following careers with Deloitte as a CPA and Wall Street as a wealth advisor, while serving on numerous not-for-profit boards in his spare time. He earned degrees in finance and accounting from Georgetown University plus management and finance from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. As a CPA with Deloitte, he led audits of SEC-registered entities from his office in NYC and then built Deloitte’s practices in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia.
Howard and his wife Dijana relocated to South Florida in 1999 to pursue a career in investment management while volunteering to serve the community and raising their children, Evan and Tessa. Over the past 20+ years in Florida, Howard has served as faculty for the Johnson School of Business at Hodges University and has served as Chair, officer or board member of important area not-for-profit entities including the American Red Cross – Collier, Child’s Path (Early Childhood Education), The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks, the Foundation for Florida’s Aquarium, plus advisory committees for the Collier County School District and Hodges University. Howard was recruited by Emmanuel Lutheran Church to lead the development and implementation of significant new ministries in the areas of theological education and community development.
