Oil Well Road Updates

MODULAR INSTALLATION UPDATE. The modular unit is being put in place today!

Next steps include electrical work, sidewalks, carpet installation, ramp construction, and landscaping.

We anticipate landscaping will take place either during Labor Day week or shortly after.

We are excited to share the notable progress over each of the next few weeks!

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL RESUMES – August 24!

We’re excited to welcome everyone back for another great year of Sunday school starting Sunday, August 24 at 11:00 AM (following worship).

This Year’s Theme: Grow with Us.

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” – 2 Peter 3:18
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed… Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree
.” – Matthew 13:31-32

This year, our Sunday school kids will take part in a Water Bottle Sticker Challenge!
Children will be encouraged each week to:

  • Learn Bible stories

  • Memorize Scripture

  • Discover the books of the Bible

  • Pray

  • Show kindness

  • Complete other fun, faith-building activities

Each completed activity earns a Biblical sticker to decorate their water bottle. The goal? Fill it up with faith-filled reminders of how they’re growing in Christ!

Kick-off Day – August 24

  • Lunch together

  • Introduction to this year’s theme

  • Fun family craft

Come ready to learn, grow, and have fun as we start this new season together!

RADICAL GIVING CHALLENGE – SHARE YOUR STORY!
We’ve already received some inspiring stories—and more keep coming in!

  • Ulli generously gave her Radical Giving Sunday gift to her daughter’s friend, who is caring for a parent with cancer while working to support herself through college.

  • Clayton has been supporting St. Matthew’s House for many years.  He took his $50 and multiplied it tenfold, donating $500 to assisting St. Matthew’s house and its many ways it helps the homeless.

  • Another member wrote: On July 27, I came to church feeling overwhelmed—no gas in my car, little food at home, and bills piling up. During worship, Pastor Lillejord announced it was Radical Giving Sunday, and we each received an envelope to bless someone else. I opened mine and saw $25 and at first, I was so relieved, thinking I could finally put gas in my car. But then I read the card: “This money is not for you, it’s for you to give.” Though I was in need, I gave it to my daughter—a single mom in nursing school—to buy food for my granddaughter.

The next morning, I was paid four days early. That same day, Cancer Alliance Network, who once helped me during chemotherapy, called to bless me with food and toys for my granddaughter. I added $25 back to my envelope to pay it forward, and to my surprise, they gave me their own envelope—with a heartfelt card, a gift certificate, and $100. God’s grace had come full circle.

We can’t wait to share even more stories next week. Keep them coming, and let’s continue to inspire each other through generosity!

Send your stories and photos to elc@naplesemmanuel.org so we can share the inspiration with our congregation.

Let’s fill the world with joy—one radical act of giving at a time!

SUNDAY SNAPSHOT
We’re thrilled to introduce the Sunday Snapshot—a weekly video with the Gospel reading and sermon from Sunday’s service.

Whether you weren’t able to join us or simply want to hear the message again, the Sunday Snapshot offers a quick and meaningful way to stay rooted in God’s Word throughout the week.

Watch anytime, and share with friends or family who could use a word of hope and encouragement!
