Oil Well Road Updates
JOIN CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL THIS SUNDAY!
We’re excited to welcome everyone back for another great year of Sunday School following worship this Sunday. This year’s theme is “Grow with Us”.
“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” – 2 Peter 3:18
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed… Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree.” – Matthew 13:31-32
This year, our Sunday school kids will take part in a Water Bottle Sticker Challenge!
Children will be encouraged each week to:
Learn Bible stories
Memorize Scripture
Discover the books of the Bible
Pray
Show kindness
Complete other fun, faith-building activities
Each completed activity earns a Biblical sticker to decorate their water bottle. The goal? Fill it up with faith-filled reminders of how they’re growing in Christ!
ONGOING PROGRESS OF THE MODULAR!
Our contractors are continuing to prepare the sanctuary of Emmanuel Church at Oil Well Road for worship!
Wiring for our audio, video, and satellite broadband has been installed this week, along with interior trim work. The skirting of the building's base has commenced.
We are looking forward to the electrical connections and installation of the steps and ramp access next week. The carpet installation will follow.
Once the ramp is installed, the cement walkways will be framed. As the walkways are poured, work will be done on the draft fire hydrant line and on completing the parking expansion.
Following the completion of the parking expansion, our landscapers (Yellowstone Landscape) will come in to install the plantings and irrigation modifications. Our A/V team from Harmon will visit and install the PTZ camera, screens, speakers, and a/v control desk at that time.
FIRST COMMUNION: September 14th
On Sunday, September 14, we will celebrate Raina and Ian’s First Communion! As part of Emmanuel’s tradition and their First Communion instruction, Raina and Ian have each baked bread that will be served during communion that day.
We invite you to join us in worship as we celebrate this joyful milestone in their faith journey.
RADICAL GIVING CHALLENGE – FOUND IN THE EMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH EMAIL!
Here are some more inspiring stories—and more keep coming!
Rick and Mary multiplied their $50 gift into more than $500, which they donated to Food Pantries SWFL (Meals of Hope) to help feed those in need.
Marion and Rob donated their Radical Giving money to Heroic Gardens, a mental health organization serving U.S. veterans in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware area. Their daughter, Collie Turner, founded the organization to support veterans struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Heroic Gardens uses horticulture as a proven path to healing as an alternative to relying solely on medication. If you would like more information, https://heroicgardens.org/our-board.
Sylvia doubled her radical giving envelope and gave it to Maria, sharing with her the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000. Maria then passed most of the gift to a neighbor in need.
Karl and Rob both increased their Radical Giving money and donated it to St. Matthew’s House. Thanks to a company matching program, their contributions were doubled — multiplying their impact even further. In addition, Rob donated men’s clothing to support those in need.
Let’s continue to inspire each other through generosity!
