MEET OUR CHURCH COUNCIL

At last week’s Annual Meeting, we gave thanks for Tom Jackson and Marion Andrews as they completed their terms of service on the Church Council. We are grateful for their faithful leadership and dedication to Emmanuel.

We also welcomed and voted in two new Council members, Mike Hanson and Stephanie Fehr. You can read their bios here.

The Congregation Council provides general oversight of the life, finances, and activities of the congregation, with particular attention to our worship life. The Council is entrusted with ensuring that all decisions and actions align with the Word of God and the faith and practice of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

The Emmanuel Lutheran Church Council is committed to carrying out the mission of our congregation to the fullest. Together, we are a Christ-centered community where God’s Spirit transforms our lives as we worship, learn, love, share, and serve.

THIS SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 1st - QUILT SUNDAY

Thanks to the dedication and generosity of our quilting ministry, 109 quilts were donated to Lutheran World Relief, extending warmth, comfort, and hope to people in need.

In addition to global outreach, our quilts and donations also supported local ministries, including St. Matthew’s House, high school graduates, baptisms, and special recognitions within our congregation.

How You Can Help?

To continue this important work, we are seeking:

  • Volunteers to help produce quilts

    • Join us in person or help by sewing quilt tops and backs at home

    • We meet Mondays, 9:30 AM–1:30 PM, November through April

  • Donate supplies, including:

    • Cotton fabric

    • Cotton crochet thread (various colors)

  • Financial donations

    • To help purchase batting and other necessary supplies (One roll of batting costs approximately $150)

A quilt-making demonstration will be set up in the Life Center on February 1, where you can see how
quilts are assembled and learn more about this meaningful ministry.

Together, stitch by stitch, we continue to share God’s love—locally and around the world.

2025 YEAR IN REVIEW

Please enjoy our 2025 Year in Review video, highlighting all that God has been doing in and through our Emmanuel community. This video celebrates the renovation of the Life Center, Community Room, bathrooms, hallways, and kitchen, the modular expansion at Emmanuel on Oil Well Road, and the addition of our new Music Director.

You’ll also see moments of fellowship, worship services, Back to School Drive, Radical Giving Event, Bible studies, and the many ways we continue to build community together. We give thanks for all that has been accomplished and for the faithful people who made it possible.

All are welcome to attend! Join us in Room 2 at 2:00 PM on February 9th as we discuss The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride.

Set in a small Pennsylvania town, this richly layered novel weaves together themes of community, justice, and compassion as long-buried secrets come to light. Through unforgettable characters and a powerful story, McBride invites readers to reflect on what it means to care for one another and to stand together in the face of injustice.

We hope you’ll join the conversation!
