A Week In Review | July 27-August 2
What a wonderful and busy week at Emmanuel! From Bible Camp at Oil Well Road and a beautiful Classical Concert to a fun-filled family trip to Great Wolf Lodge, God blessed us with opportunities for worship, learning, music, and fellowship.
We concluded the week by celebrating our Blessing of the Backpacks and delivering generous school supply donations to Calusa Park Elementary, helping students and teachers begin the school year with the tools they need and a reminder of Christ's love.
Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported these ministries. Together, we continue to make a difference in our church and our community.
Bible Camp Brings Faith, Fun, and Friendship to Emmanuel
What an incredible week of learning, laughter, and growing in faith! Twenty-four children participated in this year's Bible Camp, where each day began and ended with worship, uplifting songs, and engaging skits that brought God's Word to life.
Throughout the week, campers enjoyed Bible lessons, creative craft projects, and plenty of fun activities—including soccer, which quickly became a favorite! Every part of the day was designed to help children grow in their faith while building lasting friendships.
A special thank you goes to our wonderful volunteers—Jayden, Christopher, and Xander—who shared their time, energy, and enthusiasm with our campers. They helped make the week such a meaningful experience for our campers. We are also grateful to Edie Cole for graciously opening her home to two of the camp counselors during the week. We appreciate all who prayed for, volunteered, and supported this ministry. Your hospitality and support helped make Bible Camp possible.
Thank you to everyone who helped make Bible Camp such a meaningful experience. Through your support and service, our children experienced God's love in a fun, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment. The children built new friendships, and created memories that will last a lifetime. We can't wait for next year!
An Evening of Music, Fellowship, and Inspiration
On Thursday, July 30, 58 guests gathered at Emmanuel Lutheran Church for a memorable evening of classical music featuring the extraordinary talent of Renan Meneses.
From the very first piece, the audience was captivated. Many were amazed to discover that Renan performed the entire concert from memory, without a single sheet of music. His remarkable musicianship, combined with his youthful energy, left many commenting that they had never expected someone so young to possess such incredible talent.
Renan, who is from Brazil, also shared several pieces that are especially meaningful in his home country. Adding another special dimension to the evening, Nazareth Ruiz provided beautiful narration about the music's history and significance, and even sang a few selections while Renan accompanied her on the piano. Their collaboration made the concert even more meaningful and was a highlight for many in attendance.
Guests also enjoyed a light reception with wine and refreshments before the performance, creating a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and conversation.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this evening such a success. We look forward to offering more opportunities to gather as a community and enjoy outstanding music together.
Great Wolf Lodge Water Day
What a fantastic day of fun and fellowship! This past Saturday, 50 members of the Emmanuel family—children, youth, parents, and grandparents—spent the day together at Great Wolf Lodge enjoying an unforgettable water adventure.
From the wave pool and lazy river to thrilling water slides and outdoor pools, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Even more meaningful than the attractions was the opportunity to build friendships, share laughter, and strengthen connections across generations.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special day. Events like these remind us that Emmanuel is more than a church—we're a family, growing together in faith, fellowship, and community.
Blessing of the Backpacks & Supporting Calusa Park Elementary
Last Sunday, we celebrated our annual Blessing of the Backpacks, lifting up students, teachers, school staff, and administrators in prayer as they begin a new school year. Together, we asked for God's guidance, protection, and blessings as they embark on another year of learning and growth.
We were also honored to welcome Susie Summers, Principal; Loren Finger, Vice Principal; and Stacy Hamburg, School Counselor, from Calusa Park Elementary as they received the school supplies generously donated by our Emmanuel family. They were deeply touched by the kindness and generosity of our congregation and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year's school supply drive. Your gifts will help students and teachers begin the school year equipped for success.
