Community Care Updates

STEPHEN MINISTRY - CARE GIVERS AND CARE RECEIVERS: Our Stephen Minister’s January meeting was a wrap-up discussion of our continuing education study book: “

The Gift of Empathy: Helping Others Feel Valued, Cared for, and Understood”.

Our next continuing education book is “Caring Assertiveness:  Relating Directly, Honestly and With Respect”.  Every month Stephen Ministers meet to encourage, supervise, and strengthen our skills in order to be the most compassionate Christ-centered care givers.

Our Stephen Ministers continue every day all year, to comfort our members and friends.  We are always available to talk to and provide Christian care to you either at your home, or at a place of your choice, even our Chapel here.

Please contact Julie Basile at Julie@NaplesEmmanuel.org to learn more about becoming a part of this important ministry! For more information on having a care giver or if you would like to learn to be a Stephen Minister please contact julie@naplesemmanuel.org

GriefShare Group: GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Participating in a grief group can be a deeply supportive and healing experience. Grief groups bring together individuals who have experienced loss, offering a space to share feelings, stories, and coping strategies in a safe and understanding environment.

One of the greatest benefits is the sense of connection and belonging. Being with others who truly understand the complexities of loss can help validate your feelings and remind you that you are not alone in your journey. Grief groups can provide reassurance that the emotions you’re experiencing—whether sadness, anger, guilt, or confusion—are normal and part of the healing process.

Grief groups often encourage open, non-judgmental communication. This can help you articulate your emotions and process your pain in a way that might feel difficult in other settings. Additionally, hearing others’ experiences can provide insight into your own grief and offer new perspectives or ways to cope. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, January 22nd - 1:00 PM - 2:30PM. Please join us. If you have any questions, contact Julie@naplesemmanuel.org.
