JOIN US ON OCTOBER 5th BETWEEN SERVICES TO CELEBRATE KATHLEEN OSBORN GERDES!
We give thanks for the ministry of Kathleen Osborn Gerdes, who has shared her gifts and leadership with Emmanuel through our music ministry. Kathleen has decided to resign her position to pursue a new opportunity at her husband’s church, where she can worship alongside him and take on reduced responsibilities. We are grateful for the friendships and fellowship she has nurtured here and wish her every blessing in this next chapter. Kathleen’s final Sunday at Emmanuel will be this Sunday, October 5th. Between services, please join us to share your gratitude and well wishes as we celebrate her ministry and send her off with love!
NEW OFFICE HOURS
Beginning October 6, our new office hours will be Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
JOIN OUR WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY
Join us on Monday, October 13, at 2:00 PM in Room 2 for a discussion on Hannah and Miriam from the book The Women of the Bible Speak. Our November meeting will summarize the book, review the ending, and also include a discussion about which books we’ll read for the upcoming season.
CONFERENCE ON MINISTRY: PURSUING PEACE-ENCOURAGING OTHERS. Earlier this week, Pastor Rick, Pastor José, and Deacon Jim attended the Annual Conference on Ministry, hosted by the Florida-Bahamas Synod for all rostered leaders. The gathering was a rich time of encouragement and Bible-centered teaching, with a special focus on gratitude, generosity, and faithful stewardship. In addition to inspiring messages, the conference included meaningful breakout sessions, opportunities for collaboration, and the blessing of fellowship with colleagues in ministry.
Note: During the conference’s prayer night, Deacon Jim and Pastor José shared a poster created by Emmanuel Community Church members.
FAMILY LIFE CENTER RENOVATION UPDATE
Work continues on the installation of the new windows and doors. Work also continues in the bathroom and the community room. We have begun the exterior painting of the building. A beautiful shade portico has been installed over the Family Life Center’s double doors. Progress has also been made in the kitchen, bringing us closer to completion.
