THIS SUNDAY! HOSPITALITY WILL BE IN THE LIFE CENTER
Enjoy fellowship and refreshments after the service in our newly renovated Life Center!
CELEBRATING OUR NEW LIFE CENTER—THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone who helped plan and attended the grand celebration in our new Life Center this past Sunday! It was a wonderful day filled with joy, gratitude, and anticipation for all that’s ahead.
This event marked an exciting beginning for a refreshed space that will serve Emmanuel and our many ministries—both now and for generations to come. We are especially grateful to share that the renovation was fully funded by the generosity of a designated donor, not from Emmanuel’s general fund.
Your prayers, support, and participation continue to make our vision a reality. We’ve included a few photos below capturing the spirit of the day.
What a blessing to celebrate this milestone together!
SPECIAL CONGREGATION MEETING - SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2025 - OIL WELL ROAD
It is with excitement and great joy that the call committee shares their unanimous approval of a preferred candidate to serve as pastor of Emmanuel Church – Oil Well Road. The call committee has presented the candidate to the Council with unanimous approval to present the candidate to the congregation for call.
The candidate has accepted the preferred status and the terms of the call. The call committee will present the candidate information at the congregational meeting on Sunday, December 7 at 11:30 AM following the Oil Well Road worship service at 10:00 AM.
Important items to note:
On that day there will be worship held at Mooring Line Drive at 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, and 12:00 PM.
There will be an opportunity for people to gather in the Life Center at 11:30 on that day to participate and vote – via Zoom. Please plan to attend as we need 80 members to pass this vote.
According to the Florida Bahama Synod, only members of Emmanuel can vote. (Associate members are not allowed to vote to extend a call.)
Immediately following the meeting, we will celebrate with a light lunch. These are very exciting times at Emmanuel!
NEXT BOOK CLUB MEETS DECEMBER 8TH AT 2:00 PM IN ROOM 2!
Join the book club on Monday, Dec. 8th as they discuss “Small Things Like These” by Claire Keegan. This book is a short novel about coal merchant Bill Furlong in a small Irish town in 1985 who, while on a Christmas delivery, discovers a young woman being held and exploited at the local convent. The discovery forces him to confront his past, the complicit silence of his community, and the moral question of whether to intervene, leading him to perform a quiet act of heroism inspired by the real-life history of the Magdalene Laundries.
Read the book and then join the group ready for a discussion exchanging perspectives.
IT’S TIME TO SIGN UP FOR DINNERS FOR 6, or 8!
We’re forming new groups to kick off this fun fellowship program in January 2026!
Are you looking to meet new friends at Emmanuel—or reconnect with people you already know? Dinners for 6, or 8 is a great way to share food, laughter, and conversation in a relaxed setting.
Groups meet once a month from January through April, and you can gather wherever works best—in your home, at a restaurant, the beach, or even a bowling alley! Let’s build new connections within our Emmanuel family.
