Emmanuel Community Church Updates
END OF SCHOOL CELEBRATION | THIS SUNDAY, MAY 31st | 1:30 - 3:30 PM
Celebrate the start of summer with us this Sunday after church at our End of School Celebration!
Bring the family for an afternoon filled with fun, food, and fellowship. Kids can enjoy the water slide, so don’t forget bathing suits, towels, and sunscreen for the festivities.
Hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided, and we invite you to bring a salad or dessert to share. It’s a great way to celebrate the end of another school year together as a church family.
We hope to see you there!
YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP SUNDAY | MAY 31st
Join us on Sunday, May 31 for Youth Scholarship Sunday as we celebrate, honor, and congratulate the students receiving scholarships to support their continued education and future studies.
Come support our youth as they not only receive this special recognition, but also actively participate throughout the worship service. Students will read prayers and scripture lessons, assist with communion, and help receive the offering as they share their gifts and leadership with our church community.
This year, Emmanuel’s Youth Scholarship Committee selected nine outstanding students based on their involvement in church life, service to the community, and commitment to their educational goals. Congratulations to Savannah Salle, Christopher Fernandez, Lauren Puchalla, Jayden Ruiz, Nazareth Ruiz, Zach Sonneborn, Ty Jakubielski, Olivia Cunningham, and Matthew Lillejord.
This scholarship program continues through grants from Emmanuel’s Endowment Fund and the generosity and support of many faithful donors over the years, especially our founding partners, Marge and Charlie Herbst.
Now in its 17th year, Emmanuel’s Youth Scholarship Program has awarded 106 scholarships. This year’s awards total $15,500, bringing the overall amount distributed through the program to $111,500.
Please keep these students in your prayers as they begin or continue the next chapter of their educational journey. We are proud of their accomplishments and grateful to be part of their story.
Scholarships will be presented during the 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM worship services on Sunday, May 31.

Next week, Pastors Lillejord, Bliese, and Lebron, along with Deacon Nieves Lebron, will attend the Florida-Bahamas Synod Assembly in Kissimmee, Florida. The theme of this year’s assembly is “Do You Understand?”
During the gathering, they will participate in synod meetings, worship, and a variety of workshops focused on important issues facing the church and community today. Workshop topics include immigration and community engagement, the role of the church in addressing the differences Americans face and finding common ground rooted in the Good News of the Gospel, how leadership can shape a culture of abundance, and global mission work including building communities, disaster response, and the Synod Companion Program.
Please keep them, along with all those attending the assembly, in your prayers as they gather for learning, discussion, worship, and fellowship.
