Oil Well Road Updates

EXCITEMENT IS BUILDING AT EMMANUEL CHURCH AT OIL WELL ROAD!

The construction of the church-sanctuary is progressing and the building is looking great!  The unit is assembled, set on its foundation and tied down according to code. Twelve straps each side, secured for 180+ mph winds! County building inspectors have been visiting the site to inspect each step, and we have passed each inspection.

There is much more work still to do including pulling the electrical cables through the conduit that has already been laid and hooking it up, skirting, carpet installation and installation of the ramp and steps.  Once the ramp is installed, the cement walkways will be framed. As the walkways are poured, work will be done on the draft fire hydrant line and completing the parking expansion.

Following the completion of the parking expansion, our landscapers (Yellowstone Landscape) will come in to install the plantings and irrigation modifications.  Our AV team from Harmon will visit and install the PTZ camera, screens, speakers, and AV control desk at that time.

We are excited to share the notable progress over each of the next few weeks!

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL RESUMES THIS SUNDAY!

We’re excited to welcome everyone back for another great year of Sunday school following worship this Sunday. We will have lunch together, introduction to this year’s theme(Grow with Us), and a fun family craft. Come ready to learn, grow, and have fun as we start this new season together!

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” – 2 Peter 3:18
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed… Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree
.” – Matthew 13:31-32

This year, our Sunday school kids will take part in a Water Bottle Sticker Challenge!
Children will be encouraged each week to:

  • Learn Bible stories

  • Memorize Scripture

  • Discover the books of the Bible

  • Pray

  • Show kindness

  • Complete other fun, faith-building activities

Each completed activity earns a Biblical sticker to decorate their water bottle. The goal? Fill it up with faith-filled reminders of how they’re growing in Christ!

RADICAL GIVING CHALLENGE – SHARE YOUR STORY!
Here are some more inspiring stories—and more keep coming!

  • Linda shared that she chose to quadruple her Radical Giving money to support The Empty Bowl Naples (https://emptybowlsnaples.com), an organization that has been raising funds for 20 years to fight hunger in our community. The annual Empty Bowls event, held entirely by volunteers, brings people together each January to support local hunger-relief agencies.

In addition to her donation, Linda also joined in painting a plate that will be auctioned at the upcoming event on January 17, 2026, in Cambier Park. She described it as a wonderful experience! What a fantastic way to combine creativity, community, and compassion to make a difference.

  • Karen and Bob donated our $100 to the Tiger Fire Relief Fund.  The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida suffered a fire that destroyed some homes, tribal art and historic artifacts, as well as their community center.

  • David added to his Radical Giving envelope to donate $500 to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

We can’t wait to share even more stories next week. Keep them coming, and let’s continue to inspire each other through generosity!

Send your stories and photos to elc@naplesemmanuel.org so we can share the inspiration with our congregation.

Let’s fill the world with joy—one radical act of giving at a time!

SUNDAY SNAPSHOT

We’re excited to share a new way to stay connected during the week: Sunday Snapshot — a short weekly video featuring the Gospel reading and sermon from Sunday’s service.

Whether you weren’t able to attend or simply want to hear the message again, the Sunday Snapshot offers a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and carry God’s Word with you throughout the week.

Watch anytime — and feel free to pass it along to friends or family who could use a word of hope and encouragement!
