LENTEN DEVOTION FROM OUR PASTORS:

This video will offer a time for reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth.

As we continue our journey through Lent, we invite you to join us for a time of reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth. This week, as we reflect on the challenge of loving our enemies, we are reminded that God’s love extends beyond human boundaries. Psalm 139 assures us that we are fully known and cherished by God, just as our neighbors—and even our adversaries—are. Jesus’ words in Matthew 5 push us beyond our natural inclinations, calling us into a love that transforms hearts, relationships, and communities.

Loving our enemies does not mean ignoring justice or excusing harm, but it does mean seeing others through the lens of God’s grace. When we pray for those who oppose us, we begin to understand them as fellow children of God, shaped by their own struggles and experiences. Jesus reminds us that the love of God shines on all people, not just those we find easy to love.

May we open our hearts to the difficult work of reconciliation, trusting that God’s love can heal divisions and bring peace where there was once enmity.

We hope this time of reflection brings renewal and inspiration to your Lenten journey. We look forward to gathering together with you this Sunday.

BIBLE STUDY - THURSDAYS AT 10:30 AM: The discussion delved into the significance of communion and the Eucharist, emphasizing its historical and symbolic aspects. Key points included using different terms like Holy Communion, Lord's Supper, and Holy Eucharist, as well as their varying meanings. The conversation highlighted the ritual's evolution, particularly during the Reformation, and its importance in Protestant and Catholic traditions. The Eucharist was described as transformative, symbolizing Jesus's sacrifice and the community's unity. Practical considerations, such as using wafers over real bread for health reasons, and the ritual's role in fostering community and evangelism were also discussed. NOTES FROM TODAY’S CLASS - 4/10/25

In observance of Maundy Thursday, we will not have a class next week. We will resume discussion of Luthers’s Small Catechism on April 24.
