REFORMATION SUNDAY - THIS SUNDAY - WEAR RED
Reformation Sunday commemorates the day Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on October 31, 1517, in Wittenberg, Germany—a courageous call to reform church practices and renew faith in God’s grace. This pivotal moment sparked a rediscovery of the “good news” of salvation through God’s grace alone, received by faith in Jesus Christ rather than by works.
One of Luther’s most enduring legacies was his translation of the Bible into German, opening the door for all people to read and understand God’s Word for themselves. The color for Reformation Sunday is red, symbolizing the Holy Spirit’s power, passion, and fire.
Join us this Sunday as we celebrate this historic day—and don’t forget to wear red!
ENDOWMENT FUND LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS: The Emmanuel Lutheran Church’s Endowment Committee was formed about the year 2000. Part of our responsibilities are reviewing, approving and funding outreach ministry programs as well as non-budgeted church expenses. The committee is responsible for review and investment of Endowment Funds. For example, the Endowment Fund has supported youth scholarship grants, supported Ukraine through Lutheran World Relief as well as the recent Radical Giving event.
As is written in Matthew 25:44-45 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do it for me.’”
The Endowment Committee is currently looking for three new members to work on this very worthwhile committee. Prayerfully, will you consider joining us? If you have any questions, please contact Linda Cummings at lcummingsart@icloud.com or 239-206-7118. Deadline to inquire is November 7.
ORGANIST NEEDED: We are seeking an organist to play for our traditional 9:00 AM worship service. If you or someone you know may be interested, please contact the church office at 239-261-0894 and ask for Gina or Pastor Lillejord.
PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH
Thank you, Pastors! During this month of appreciation, we give thanks for your faithful leadership, compassion, and the many ways you guide and care for our congregation. Your words inspire, your prayers uplift, and your presence reminds us of God’s constant love and grace.
May God continue to strengthen and bless you in every season of ministry and life. We are truly grateful for all that you do!
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2 - ALL SAINTS SUNDAY
Come worship with us on All Saints Sunday, November 2, 2025 as we remember and give thanks for all the saints—those who have gone before us in faith and those who continue to walk beside us today. As a sign of hope and resurrection, we invite you to wear white as we celebrate the light of Christ that shines through every generation of believers.
YOU’RE INVITED!
Pastor Rick Bliese and Howard Isaacson will be leading an Emmanuel Lutheran Global Seminary trip from January 13 -22, 2026 to visit the Lutheran Church in Rwanda and witness the impact of our ministry. We will spend a day in Istanbul's historic district on our way, two days on safari in Akagera National Park (lions, rhinos, giraffe, wart hogs, etc.) and three days in Kigali, witnessing our impact on pastors and ministries we have supported (plus sightseeing, shopping and great eating!)
The cost is projected at $3,500, which includes airfare, transfers, accommodations, food, and the safari.
Please contact Pastor Bliese at PastorRick@NaplesEmmanuel.org for more information.
FAMILY LIFE CENTER CONTINUES TO MAKE GREAT PROGRESS!
New carpet has been installed in both the main room and the West Room, and fresh flooring has been laid throughout the hallways. New tables and other furnishings are scheduled to arrive this Thursday, adding the finishing touches to the space. The new kitchen floor is also set to be installed next week, bringing us one step closer to completion.
