LECTIONARY PLUS: Prepare for Worship This Sunday.
This week’s readings, 1 Timothy 6:6-19 and Luke 16:19-31, invite us to reflect on contentment, godliness, and the realities of wealth and poverty. In the parable of Lazarus, a poor man longs for generosity from a rich man. When both die, Lazarus is carried to heaven while the rich man suffers in Hades. The rich man pleads for Lazarus to be brought back from death to warn his brothers, but is told his brothers must listen to the law and the prophets.
These passages challenge us to ask: “How are we finding contentment?” and “What does it mean to live a godly life?” Pastor José reminds us that God calls us to trust Him rather than wealth, and to care for the poor and needy. Ultimately, we are reminded that salvation comes only by grace through faith in Christ.

THIS WEEK’S SUNDAY FORUM! God’s Influencer: Carlo Acutis - The First Millennial Saint
Pastor Rick will be traveling this Sunday, so we will not hold a live discussion. However, we encourage you to watch a special video highlighting what happened in Rome this September. Carlo Acutis, 15 years old when he died, was canonized by Pope Leo in September.
The Catholic Church hopes that Saint Carlo Acutis, who used technology to share his faith, will inspire young people to return to the church. As an “influencer for God,” his life and witness are seen as a source of new energy and hope for the church today.
Watch the video to find out the amazing story about this newest Saint of the church.
