Education at Emmanuel
LECTIONARY PLUS: Prepare for Worship This Sunday.
This Week’s Readings: Ephesians 3:1-12 • John 1-18
This week in Lectionary Plus, Pastor Bliese guides us through the powerful opening of John’s Gospel. In this passage, we hear the profound truth that Jesus is the Word, the One through whom all things were created, and the One who brings life and light into the world. Pastor Bliese reflects on three key themes:
Jesus is the Word — God made known to us in human form.
Grace upon Grace — the overflowing, undeserved love of God poured out for all people.
The Glory of God in Jesus — the light that no darkness can overcome.
We will also explore the contrast between light and darkness, connecting John’s words with God’s creative work in Genesis. How do we experience the light of Christ today? What does it mean to witness God’s grace and glory in our lives?
Join us this Sunday as Pastor Bliese offers deeper insight into this scripture and invites us to see the world through the light of Christ.
