Florida-Bahama Synod Assembly Conference
2026 CONFERENCE ON MINISTRY
Be inspired, renewed, and equipped at this year’s Conference on Ministry, a dynamic continuing education experience designed specifically for rostered leaders. Centered on the theme “Connecting, Sustaining, Reforming,” the conference will explore how we, as church leaders, can remain deeply rooted in Christ while cultivating vibrant, faithful ministry in a changing world.
Drawing from John 15:1–5, we’ll reflect on what it means to stay connected to the true vine, sustain our calling through seasons of challenge and growth, and embrace the opportunities God is placing before the church.
We are honored to welcome Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as our keynote speaker. Bishop Curry will share his insights on strengthening connections within our communities, sustaining ministry with resilience and purpose, and reforming the church for faithful witness in the years ahead.
OUR PASTORS GATHER FOR THE CONFERENCE ON MINISTRY
This week, Pastors David Lillejord, Rick Bliese, and Jay Shailer, along with Deacon Jim, gathered with other church leaders for the Conference on Ministry, a three-day continuing education experience designed to encourage, challenge, and equip those serving the church.
This year’s theme, “Connecting, Sustaining, Reforming,” invited participants to consider how we remain rooted in Christ while continuing to grow and serve faithfully in a changing world. Drawing from John 15:1–5, the conference reflected on what it means to stay connected to Christ, the true vine; sustain our calling through seasons of challenge and growth; and remain open to the ways God is leading and reforming the church.
A highlight of the conference was the opportunity to hear from Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, who served as keynote speaker. Bishop Curry shared his perspective on strengthening connections within our communities, sustaining ministry with resilience and purpose, and embracing opportunities for faithful witness in the years ahead.
We are grateful for the time Pastor Lillejord, Pastor Bliese, Pastor Shailer and Deacon Jim spent learning, worshiping, reflecting, and connecting with fellow ministry leaders. We look forward to the ways these experiences will continue to enrich the ministry of Emmanuel and help us grow together in faith, hope, and service.
