Oil Well Road Updates
LATEST UPDATE ON MODULAR BUILDING COMING TO EMMANUEL PARK CHURCH AT OIL WELL ROAD:
Most recently, the specific location of the Modular Building has been staked out in preparation for site work, delivery and installation. The manufacturing of our Modular Building has been completed, and the unit is being held at the manufacturer's site pending final approvals of Collier County government, which will trigger delivery to the site. We are very close to the culmination of the required reviews and approvals. Specific details have been included below to explain "how close" we are in the process.
Details:
We have received the required Land Use and Zoning Certificate and are working closely with our Civil Engineers, Bowman (formerly Hole Montes), to conclude the processes for four different pending land development permits from the county's Growth Management department. The conclusion of the processes is dependent on the approval of our previously submitted Administrative Parking Reduction (APR) application, which we understand should be approved this week.
Approval of the APR will then trigger Bowman's resubmission of our Site Development Plan Insubstantial Change (SDPI). Other than our receipt of the APR, all comments to date have been addressed. Thus, final approval of the SDPI should follow the resubmission with the approved APR.
Upon the approval of the SDPI, the final requirement for the county's approval of our Temporary Use Permit (TUP) for the Modular Building will be complete. Bowman will trigger the county's review of the TUP upon notification of the approval of the SDPI, and we expect subsequent approval by county staff.
Also pending at this time is the Building Permit, with the one open requisite being the approval of the SDPI. Thus, our General Contractor (GC), Advanced Modular, will submit documentation of the SDPI approval to the county when possible, and we expect the subsequent approval by county staff.
Thus, we are optimistic that the APR will be approved this week, and we will then be in a position to obtain approval for our SDPI within 10 days, with the TUP and Building Permit following within a week or sooner. (Approvals now all depend on the processing speed of county staff.)
As soon as the Building Permit is issued, our GC will schedule their subcontractors and the delivery of the modular units. From that point in time, our GC plans to complete the building and obtain the Certificate of Occupancy within eight weeks. We are close! Thanks for your patience!
LAST WEEK WE AWARDED ELEVEN STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION! The Committee selected these students based on their active involvement in church life, participation in youth ministry, commitment to serving the community, and dedication to their educational goals.
Since its inception 16 years ago, the scholarship program has awarded 86 scholarships—this year’s total of $9,500 brings the cumulative disbursement to an inspiring $96,000.
Please join us in praying for these exceptional young people as they embark on the next exciting chapter of their journey. We are incredibly proud of each of them!
This meaningful program exists thanks to the vision and generosity of our founding partners, Marge Herbst and her late husband, Charlie, along with many others who have faithfully supported the fund over the years. If you would like to contribute to the Youth Scholarship Fund and help invest in the future of our young people, please make your check payable to Emmanuel Lutheran Church and write “Youth Scholarship” in the memo line or click on the link below to donate online.
Thank you for helping us encourage and equip the next generation!
A JOYFUL GATHERING IN WORSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP:
Last Sunday, over 200 people from across our Emmanuel communities came together for a beautiful joint worship service followed by a lively picnic in the Family Life Center. It was a joyful day of connection, celebration, and community.
Events like this are only possible through the dedication and teamwork of many helping hands. While we’re grateful for everyone who contributed and all the excellent food everyone brought, we’d like to extend a special thank-you to those who went above and beyond—helping with setup, grilling, food service, and cleanup:
Keith McCullen, Clayton Blomseth, Beth McCullen, Jean Lee, Janet Haughn, Dee Schleutker, and Jan Donnell.
Your hard work and servant hearts made this day so memorable. Thank you!
