LECTIONARY PLUS: Prepare for Worship This Sunday.
This week’s readings—Romans 3:19–28 and John 18:31–36—invite us to reflect on truth and freedom. “The truth will make you free.” But what is truth? Though we are all sinners, faith saves us. These passages call us back to the core biblical truths that set us free—the power of truth as the source of real freedom. They remind us to return to the basics of faith: receiving God’s blessings and favor, not through our own works, but through what God has done for us in Christ. This message stands at the very heart of the Reformation, of the Lutheran church, and of every sermon and prayer—we depend fully on Christ. Watch the video as Pastor Bliese shares his reflections on these powerful texts.
Watch the video, and then join Pastor Lillejord on Sunday to hear more of his thoughts and insights during worship.
THIS WEEK’S SUNDAY FORUM! Reformation Sunday: Telling the Sotry of our Identity. In this week’s Sunday Forum, we’ll explore the history of the Reformation and the life of Martin Luther. Together, we’ll reflect on how this pivotal story has shaped our identity as Lutherans. We’ll also learn how Luther used the “Luther Rose” as a symbol to summarize the Gospel message—grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone—reminding us that we are saved by grace through faith, entirely through the work of Christ.
Watch the video, and then join Pastor Bliese, this Sunday for a discussion about Ethics.
